February Dividend Income

This month did not have much in dividend income ($8.86) as most of my dividends will come from FUSEX, BX, and VYM which pay out quarterly.  However, as my portfolio grows I hope to level off the other months so I don't have to wait three months for the big payouts.

February Buys

Happy to write my first post about my buys for the month!  Using Vanguard, Fidelity, and Loyal 3 I automatically invested $1,358.47 this month.  By placing orders throughout the month, I was hoping to not only average on individual equity holdings but also average on the volatile market as of late. The yield is lower than I have hoped (1.97%), but it does add $26.79 to my yearly dividends.  I have separated out the dividend paying stocks and the non-dividend paying stocks.

Start of a Journey!

Hello!  As you can tell this site is a work in progress.  Hopefully, this is the first of many posts.  I have been investing since June 2014 and was inspired to start this blog because of all of the investing blogs out there (more specifically the dividend related ones). This is my way of keeping myself more responsible for my decisions since everyone can see my portfolio.  I really hope to grow my dividends as well as diversify into some growth stocks as my investing horizon to retirement is extremely long.  I hope to automate most of the process and see where it takes me.  Lets enjoy this journey!

Cheers,
The Dividend Mogul
